This is at one time was my wives home place if you really want tons of history she can share it as long as the other brothers and sisters and grandchildren. My daughter, Amber remembers them milking the cows in the barn and playing in the hey loft and running from the chickens well mainly just the rooster that would pluck you. If you buy or rent the Hallmark Video FOXFIRE the movie on the Beginning you can view Mr. Long plowing across the road from this property it is a very neat piece of history. There are plenty of pictures of this home site that Mr. and Mrs. Long were offered for interviews from multiple Foxfire books as well. Their front porch of this home and kitchen was also on the morning news show form New York I think it was Good monring America but i would need to check with the family on that one. That was when the movie Foxfire was published. They came down from New York and interviewed them since they were living Appalachian Mountain people and working on their mountain land. They still farmed and lived off their garden and cows. It may be a clipping of the older kitchen or older barn but it still shows this places love and stories from the past!
